The customs and traditions of Christmas have been derived from many different cultures and have evolved over the centuries. Although traditions might vary slightly, but they all signify the sentiments and symbols associated with Christmas. Liveliness and jubilations is what Christmas adds to the winter holiday season. Christmas is also the celebration of joy and happiness, love and compassion, faith and hope.
Celebrating Christmas is all about spending private moments with family and friends. It's not about spending lots of money on decorations, parties or food, but about sharing our time and good wishes with special people in our lives. Its time to appreciate and show gratitude to our well-wishers. Christmas Meal is the major feature of Christmas day. The special meal of Christmas dishes is served and shared with family and friends. The menu of the meal depends upon the tradition in various countries. In Canada, the traditional Christmas dinner is roast turkey with vegetables and sauces. For dessert it can be either rich, fruity Christmas pudding with brandy sauce or mince pies, pastry cases filled with a mixture of chopped dried fruits.
