Christopher Guest

Christopher Guest was born on 5th February in the year 1948 in New York City. His parents were Jewish by birth but they later became atheists. As a consequence Christopher Guest did not have any religious upbringing. The life of Christopher Guest as a celebrity began when he acted in the mocking documentary titled as This Is Spinal Tap. In this film he played the role of the famous character Nigel Tufnel. The movie was released in the year 1984.

He also appeared in the same role of Tufnel in a 1978 comedy show named The TV Show. Christopher Guest acted in the role of Count Rugen in the movie called The Princess Bride. Some other roles played by him were Lord Cromer in Mrs. Henderson Presents, and the role of Dr. Stone in the film titled as A Few Good Men. He also appeared as Dylan, the character who was a pedestrian in the movie The Little Shop of Horrors which was released in the year 1986 and was actually a remake of the previous version of the film.

Christopher Guest appeared in many satirical documentary films like The Big Picture, Waiting for Guffman, Best in Show, A Mighty Wind, and For Your Consideration which was released in 2006. Christopher Guest worked as a filmmaker in the film Almost Heroes which was actually a comedy; although the film was not highly praised by the critics, it was a commercially successful movie. Christopher Guest met actress Jamie Lee Curtis and got married to her in the year 1984. Anne and Thomas are their two adopted children. After his father's death in 1996, Christopher Guest became the 5th Baron Haden-Guest in Essex.

Christopher Guest's adopted children cannot inherit his property, so he has declared his brother Nicholas Haden-Guest's name as the heir of the Barony. Nowadays Christopher Guest does not appear much in shows or movies but his celebrity stardom is still looming large in the Hollywood's world of entertainment. He does appear in some charity shows or promotional shows. In one interview Christopher Guest said that he is a very serious man in real life and he does not joke unless he is in front of camera. And he also added that he has been acting in comedy roles or as host of various television programs because it is his profession, but his real life is very different in respect to what he shows off on the screen.
