Christopher Guest met actress Jamie Lee Curtis and got married to her in the year 1984. Anne and Thomas are their two adopted children. After his father's death in 1996, Christopher Guest became the 5th Baron Haden-Guest in Essex.

Nowadays Christopher Guest does not appear much in shows or movies but his celebrity stardom is still looming large in the Hollywood's world of entertainment. He does appear in some charity shows or promotional shows. In one interview Christopher Guest said that he is a very serious man in real life and he does not joke unless he is in front of camera. And he also added that he has been acting in comedy roles or as host of various television programs because it is his profession, but his real life is very different in respect to what he shows off on the screen.
