In the years 1916 and 1917 Howard Hawks worked in some movies but after the completion of graduation he joined the National Army in the Air Force. He served his country in the World War I. Then when the war was over, Howard Hawks worked with many professions like race car driver, aviator and designer of aircrafts. Howard Hawks stepped into the world of entertainment as a writer of scripts. His first work was with the movie Tiger Love. Howard Hawks worked for the first time as a filmmaker in the film titled as The Road to Glory in the year 1925. After that Howard Hawks worked in many silent movies of that time including the film named as Fazil. But his most prominent works are with sound movies.
In the year 1932 Howard Hawks made Scarface , where the movie showed some cultural aspects of the American society. His film Bringing Up Baby is still included in the list of Hundred American Best Films. The movie titled as Only Angels Have Wings was made and remade respectively in the years 1939 and 1942. His Girl Friday is the number 9 film in the list of hundred American films. This film was released in the year 1940. Gary Cooper starred in his film Sergeant York and the film won two Academy Awards.

Howard Hawks is famous for his excellent skill in the field of directing all kinds of movies ranging like comedies, dramas, gangster movies, or science fictions. He used to handle all of these kinds comfortably and the productions were highly acclaimed by the film critics of USA. Howard Hawks died in the year 1977 on 26th December in Palm Springs in California. Filmmakers all over the world still remembers Howard Hawks for his famous immemorial works.
