Zach Braff also completed a bachelor's degree with arts from Northwestern University. He was a member of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity in the University. The acting life of Zach Braff began when he started performing for the Shakespearian dramas like Twelfth Night and Macbeth at Public Theater in the New York City and he eventually stepped into the world of entertainment. Zach Braff got the chance to appear in the famous filmmaker Woody Allen's movie Manhattan Murder Mystery. He also starred in the Disney program The Baby Sitter's Club. Zach Braff has successfully performed in the television show called Scrubs in which he played the role of the protagonist.
Garden State was another movie shoot in his home land New Jersey in numerous towns including his birthplace South Orange. Zach Braff wrote the story of the film in six months and the producers are really reluctant to provide the money needed. But ultimately the film proved to be a huge success and Zach Braff established himself as a celebrity in the US. This film fetched him a Grammy Award in the category of Best Soundtrack. Zach Braff lent his voice to the Disney film Chicken Little in the year 2005. He has directed several music videos like Joshua Radin's "Closer", and Lazlo Bane's "Superman".
In the month of September in 2006, he appeared in the Romantic drama The Last Kiss. Zach Braff says that he wanted his character to be as real as possible. But the film was commercially not so successful although it is said that the DVD of the film was highly successful as far as the marketing is concerned. Zach Braff directed The Ex, and he calls this movie a "silly comedy". This film was released in 2007 and had a long list of superstars that includes the names like Amanda Peet, Charles Grodin and Jason Bateman. Zach Braff also hosted an episode of the celebrated Saturday Night Live in 2007. Zach Braff is said to be a great admirer of British comedian Ricky Gervais.
