Don't wait till you have some kind of a hair disorder to start caring for your hair. As with your skin, the regimen needs to start now. The first thing you need to do is oil your hair and scalp with warm oil preferably mixed with some healthy herbs. Massage the oil in the scalp, it increases circulation and provides the roots of your hair with the much-needed nourishment. Of course it does come with the added advantage of relaxing your mind. Both almond oil and olive oil are good options.
Thereafter you need to use a good shampoo and conditioner. Now there are endless varieties in the market and you are literally spoilt for choice. But remember instead of using natural products, it's still better to use products which you can make yourself out of ingredients which are known to be beneficial for your hair. Do consult a specialist before trying out any of these treatments to confirm the kind of hair you have and the effect it will have on your hair. Here's a natural shampoo that you can make at home.
Natural Shampoo
This shampoo is perfect for those who have dry and frizzy hair as the glycerin helps retain moisture thereby softening the hair and providing it some luster. The shelf life of this product is 1week.
Ingredients
- 4-5 bags of chamomile tea or alternatively you could use a bunch of chamomile flowers.
- 4-5 tbsps of soap flakes
- 1½ tbsps of glycerin.
Directions
Soak the tea bags in one and a half cups of boiled water. Let the tea bags soak for about 10 minutes. After that remove the tea bags from the water and add soap flakes to the water. Leave it aside until the soap softens, after which you can add glycerin and blend the mixture well. Pour it into a clean bottle or jar and store in a cool dry place. Remember too use it within 1 week.
