Halloween Make Up |

Halloween's definitely one of the most fun nights of the year. Whether you are young or old, you get to dress up and be silly for one night. Fantasy and reality merge and you find yourself dressing up as that which you fear the most. It would be inappropriate to get into the psychology behind that mindset just now, so we'll just spare you the grief. So your costume is decided and you are ready to slip into your scary avatar but wait a minute. What fun would Halloween be without make-up, yes, the scary kind. |
|
But before you go all out and start painting your face, make sure you know all about the cosmetics you are using because it's possible that you could be allergic to one or more of the ingredients used in them. Read the labels very carefully, if it says not to be used near the yes, follow the instructions even if the picture on the bottle shows something else. Do not use any glue that is not intended to be used as body glue and remember some Halloween Make-up can be flammable so don't use it around an open fire. And finally, no matter how tired you are do not sleep with the make-up on. Wash it till your face is all clean because if left on for too long, the chemicals can have nasty side effects.
The first thing you need to decide is whether to put the Make-up first or your costume first. This can be a tricky decision. If your costume is bulky, you would do well to wear it before your makeup for otherwise it will just end up streaking your freshly painted make-up. Before applying the make-up, make sure your face is clean and freshly washed and then apply a very thin layer of Vaseline because for one it will prevent any reaction to the costume paint and it will also make it easier for you to remove the make-up later. So make sure you wash and clean your face with astringent.
Also any attachments like a scar, wart, nose or a gum should be attached before you apply Make-up because it will not stick on very well once the Make-up is applied. Next apply foundation in a color that will suit the look you are taking on and before you start applying the paints, make sure the layer below is completely dry. Use a blow dryer if you must, not on heat only the air. Make sure you apply the paint evenly and use as many layers as you think are necessary to achieve that flawless, textured look which is just perfect for Halloween.
Once you've applied all that.um, scary Make-up, make sure it stays put. The best way to do that is to gently brush your face with some baby powder which removes all the moisturizer and as long as you dried the layers before adding new ones you are good to go. And this has to be said again, before you turn in for the night, make sure you remove the Halloween make-up.
