Make-up can enhance your beauty only if it is applied very carefully. Most people tend to over play on their make-up resulting in a look which is far from desirable. However, fret not, the solution is rather simple, all you need to do is learn how to apply your make-up properly and see how everybody reacts to your status as a Bella Donna. The first thing you need to do is invest in a good concealer that is a shade lighter than your foundation. Blend the concealer over any spots, blemishes or dark circles on your face. If you feel that your concealer cakes upon your skin then apply some cream first. |

Next, choose a foundation that is compatible to your skin tone and dab some spots around the center of your face. Blend the foundation using a make-up sponge or your fingertips till it covers your entire face. Be particularly careful about blending your foundation at the edges so that it does not look like a mask. Once you are happy with the result dab some loose powder on to it so that the foundation and concealer stay on longer. If you wish to touch up on your make-up while you are out, use powder.
For your eyes, choose the eye shadows in compatible shades. Most manufactures sell shadows in trios these days, making your job easier. Apply the lightest shade just below your brow bone, and the medium shade over the rest of your eyelid. Blend the two where they meet with your fingers to give a more natural look. Next, take the darkest shade and apply it on the crease of your lid. Blend with your fingers to give it more depth. Use some iridescent powder at the outer edges of your eyes to achieve the smoky eyed look. Use kajal for your lower eyelid and eyeliner for your upper lashes. Use a good waterproof mascara on your upper eye lashes and make sure it does not form any clumps.
To apply blush or not depends very much on the occasion. If it's a casual get together you could skip the blush altogether and just do your eyes and lips to get a more natural look. But in a more formal environment, your make-up needs to be impeccable and thus your blush needs to be just the right shade, accentuating your face yet very subtle. Choose something in a light pastel shade. It should be two compatible shades. Use the darker shade on the apple of your cheeks and the lighter shade in the hollow. Blend with your fingers and make sure it does not stand out from your face but instead looks elegant. You can even use blush to highlight or camouflage any of your features, Works like a charm every time.
Finally the lips, here it depends very much on personal choice. Are you the kind who can carry off bold, sultry colors and a glossy look or do you prefer lighter shades with a matte finish. Do not use a lip liner if you wish for your face to look slimmer and if you must use one, line your lips after putting lipstick because then you won't be left with a ghastly looking lip outline when the lipstick wears off. Avoid using lip liner which is too dark. Use a brush to fill in your lips with the desired color.
