Wedding Reception

The party which is held after the completion of the marriage ceremony is known as the Wedding Reception. In different parts of the world, the significance of the reception party holds varied meanings. In the eastern part of the globe, especially in the Chinese society, the wedding reception party holds more importance than the marriage ceremony itself.

The reception party is extremely elaborate and expensive and it often costs several years' salary of the groom's family. As each couple unites themselves in the bond of marriage, their wedding reception is financed with expensive presents from the other members of the society with the expectation that the new couple and their family will give gifts in future wedding receptions within the village community.

In the western countries the wedding reception is different from that of the Eastern countries. After a traditional meal including food and wine, a speech is given by the bride's father, the best man, that is, the groom and the maid of honor that is the bridesmaid wishing the couple a prosperous future full of good luck and fortune. After the speech ends, the bride and the groom begin their first dance, which is generally known as the "Bridal Waltz". In the contemporary times different dance styles are used depending upon the nature of the dance. The invited guests are invited to participate in the dancing following the sequence of special marriage dances. The reception party goes on with toasts and various jubilations until the bride and groom leave in a car decorated with brightly colored blossoms by the friends and the relatives of the couple.

'They Deserve It' presents you all a wide range of information on the variety of wedding reception ideas from all over the globe to contribute to the divine union of the bride and the groom.
