J.Lo 's first album On The 6, a reference to the 6 subway line which she used to take while growing up in Castle Hill, was released on June 1, 1999, and found its place in the top 10 of the Billboard 200. The album featured the singles like "If You Had My Love," as well as the top 10 hit "Waiting For Tonight." It also included the Spanish-language, Latin-flavored duet "No Me Ames" with Marc Anthony but it was never released as a single in the United States. On The 6 also featured guest artists like Big Pun and Fat Joe on the track "Feelin' So Good." "Let's Get Loud," the final single had earned Lopez a Grammy Award nomination in the "Best Dance Recording" category in 2001. Whereas "Waiting For Tonight" was nominated for the same category in 2000.
J.Lo, Lopez' second album was released in January 2001 and debuted at number one position on the Billboard 200. The lead single, "Love Don't Cost A Thing," took her into the top 5 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. Her next two singles were "I'm Real" and "Ain't It Funny" which were quickly climbing up the charts. Her third studio album, This Is Me... Then, reached number two on the Billboard 200 and spawned four singles: "Jenny From The Block", "All I Have", "I'm Glad"; and "Baby I Love U!." Lopez was once seen with Marc Anthony, in "Escapémonos," this time on his albums Amar Sin Mentiras and Valió La Pena.
Lopez 'fourth studio album Rebirth debuted and peaked at number two on the Billboard 200. But with all the success, J.Lo still remains Jenny from the block.
