Saint Valentine was related to the celebration of love across the globe. Love plays its key note in this day. This day was meant to honor Juno. Juno is the wife of Zeus or Jupiter, God of wealth and prosperity. He is supposed to be the king of Gods. Greek mythology dubs Juno as Hera. She was believed to be the consort of Adam. Later on she married Zeus and took active part in ruling Olympus. The month of June is devoted to brides, thereby, love and affection.
The significance of Saint Valentine is beyond calculation. The celebration started with the offering and sacrifice to Lupercal. This was a pagan practice. Later, the celebration of Valentine's Day was recognized by the Roman Catholic Church. It was under the aegis of soul less Claudius II, Saint Valentine held up his dissent against the pitiful practice of nullifying marriages and engagements. It was Saint Valentine, who disregarded the laws of Claudius II.
